Rick Kaepernick is best known as the adoptive father of Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback and civil rights activist. In 1987, Rick and his wife Teresa adopted Colin when he was just five weeks old, providing him with a loving and supportive home in Wisconsin. The couple, who had previously experienced the heartbreak of losing two sons to congenital heart defects, welcomed Colin into their family alongside their biological children, Kyle and Devon.
